About me

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here!  Breastfeeding support can make a significant difference in your journey and I look forward to working with you!

My name is Sarah Barth, and I am a Certified Lactation Counselor. I grew up in Ohio and currently reside in Baltimore, Maryland with my husband and our four children. Each of my children had a different breastfeeding journey, from beginning to end. There were various twists and turns along the way, and I didn’t always know where to turn for support.  Sometimes I couldn’t even recognize that I needed support!

With my youngest, we faced a complicated ordeal with poor weight gain that we discovered was the result of misdiagnosed/not-yet-diagnosed tongue and lip ties.  That journey really opened my eyes to the reality that so many families do not get the support they need for breastfeeding.  They may not know that support is available, the support may not be accessible, or they may not even know that support would be beneficial to them!  I decided to become a Certified Lactation Counselor in order try to help fill in the gaps and try to be the “link” they need.

After obtaining my certification, I took additional courses in various topics, including (but not limited to), pumping, tethered oral tissues, infant sleep, positioning, and low supply. I aim to keep learning more so that I can provide you with optimal, evidence based support, because every family deserves that!

Additionally, I have developed relationships with other professionals (including but not limited to, IBCLCs, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and dentists) in the Baltimore area, and if I feel the support you need is beyond what I am able to provide, I will gladly guide you to professionals that have the proper knowledge and skills for your needs, and I will gladly continue to remain involved in your support however I can, if you would like me to.

My philosophy is that infant feeding isn’t just about nutrition and calories, but also about connection and building a relationship. I will do my utmost to provide you with evidence-based, nonjudgmental support that is consistent with your individual circumstances and feeding goals. We will work together to come up with strategies and tools that will help you navigate your breastfeeding journey and hopefully reach your feeding goals.

Ultimately, I hope to educate and empower you to feel in control of your journey while knowing that you are not alone. I look forward to hearing from you!

Welcome!

I’m here for you and your baby!
